At Caps of Courage, our mission is to provide free handmade caps to children and young people affected by cancer, offering warmth, comfort, and confidence throughout their journey.
Through the dedication of our volunteers and Lions Clubs International, we create colourful, lovingly made caps that remind every recipient they are not alone.
We aim to bring hope, smiles, and courage while building a community of compassion and support across the UK.
Anyone can join in with Caps of Courage — whether you knit, crochet, or sew on your own, or as part of a group, club, or organisation.
Many of our caps are lovingly created by individuals at home, while others come from community groups such as WIs, Lions Clubs, schools, and craft circles.
However you choose to take part, every cap makes a difference. By coming together, we can create comfort, warmth, and smiles for children and young people facing cancer.
Caps can be made all year round and except for special requests or projects with other organisations, can be sent in your own time frame, so no rushing is required.
Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us continue providing handmade caps to children and young people affected by cancer.
On average, each cap costs around £5 to make and deliver to its end user.
We work hard to keep costs as low as possible by relying on our wonderful network of volunteers who give their time and skills freely. Your donation helps us cover the essentials — yarn, fabric, labels, postage, and packaging — so that every cap can reach the children who need them most.
There are several ways you can donate:
Every donation makes a real difference, and we are truly grateful for your generosity.
Why not make your support personal?
Companies, teams, and groups can sponsor a Cap of Courage and even choose a fun theme to match your brand or passion — from aeroplanes and sports to superheroes or rainbows.
Sponsorship helps us buy the fabric or wool, labels, and supplies to bring each cap to life, while reminding a young person with cancer that they are not alone.
It’s a unique way to give back, inspire your team, and spread smiles.
Together, we can stitch courage into every cap.
